Navigating Cape Cod Region’s blue economy

The Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025 WaterWORKS Career Exploration Day will be held on Tuesday, January 14, from 9am to 4pm, at Cape Cod Community College.

It's back again! WaterWORKS is coming up, set for Tuesday, January 14, 2025. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our career exploration day will host 400+ students from the Cape and Islands, with opportunities to learn about careers in STEM and the blue economy. Students will be able to talk with employers and educators about what awaits them if they choose a career in blue.

We are proud to say that each year we get more and more exhibitors, with over 60 exhibitors at the 2024 summit. Of those 60, 95% said they would return to WaterWORKS, so we can expect great things again this year!

Experiencing WaterWORKS 2024 is what brought our intern, Will Penni, to the Blue Economy Foundation.

"WaterWORKS was great. It was such an amazing opportunity to learn about the job choices we have from living as close as we do to the water", says Will. "It really opened my eyes to so many career paths I had never even heard of before."

In addition to the 400 students, we are opening for the first time to 200 general attendees! Looking for a job on the ocean? Interested in shell fishing? Do you just like the beaches and want to learn more? This is the place for you! The general admittance portion lasts from 1:45- 4 p.m. All you need to do is sign up!

You'll have opportunities to interact with blue economy and STEM-related employers and educators through interactive displays, one-on-one conversations, and panel Q&A sessions, highlighting the career opportunities waiting for them here at home.
