Privacy Policy
Welcome to EXPEDITIONBLUE.ORG, a website owned and operated by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation, a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation, with a principal place of business at 5 Patti Page Way, Centerville, Massachusetts 02632 (hereinafter referred to as "the Chamber").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using any of the Chamber’s Internet properties including, without limitation expeditionblue.org, mobile sites, mobile applications, social media sites, any other digital services or properties operated by the Chamber from time to time (collectively referred to as the "Sites") you agree to comply with and be bound by this Privacy Policy. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully as well as the Chamber’s Terms of Use. If you do not agree to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy, you must immediately terminate the use of the Sites.
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) lists, and generally describes the policies and procedures related to, information and data that the Chamber and/or our contractors collects from visitors to the Sites.
Personal Information That the Chamber Collects
The Chamber and/or our contractors, collect and store any information you choose to put in an e-mail you send or contact form you submit. The Sites do not collect donation information, for which you will be directed to a payment contractor.
The Chamber, and/or our contractors, also collect data on how the Sites are used: for example, number of page visits and duration or the type of browser. This “usage data” includes what some jurisdictions consider personal information, like visitors’ devices’ Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses (which include general location).
Use of Personal Information
The Chamber, and or our contractors, collect personal information, such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number, or credit card number when you visit the Sites, place a reservation online or by phone, save your information with us online, contact us with a question or concern, or participate in a contest, promotion or survey. We also collect anonymous information to help improve the content and relevancy of the Sites, the content and layout for visitors, and generally enhance the experience of visitors to the Sites. We may wish to communicate with you from time to time via e-mail to provide you with information. You may also contact us to update your address or let us know of changes.
We use cookies and other technologies – including the personal information they collect – so that, for example, the Sites can remember your device(s). We also use information gained through cookies and other technologies to compile statistical information about the use of the Sites and for security purposes.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Under the United States Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and implementing regulations ("COPPA"), verifiable parental consent is required to collect, use, or disclose personal information from each child under 13 years old. Under COPPA, personal information includes, but is not limited to, first and last name, online contact information (including a screen or user name), a photograph, video, or audio file containing a child’s image or voice, and geolocation information.
The Chamber does not collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without consent from a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian can provide consent by signing the Parent Consent Form and sending the signed form to the Chamber by e-mail or post.
Pursuant to COPPA, parents of children under 13 have certain rights with respect to our collection, use, retention, and disclosure of their child’s information. This includes the right to review, update, or delete their child’s information, as well as to prohibit our sharing their child’s information with third parties. Parents can exercise these rights by submitting a request to the Chamber by e-mailing info@expeditionblue.org.
Retention of Personal Information
The Chamber, and/or our contractors, retain your personal information so long as it serves the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy, to collect and monitor traffic and other usage statistics for the Sites, and to comply with our legal obligations.
Transfer of Personal Information
The Chamber may store or process your data outside your city, province, state, or country, including through one of our contractors. As a result, your personal information may be stored in a jurisdiction that operates under privacy and data protection laws different from (and potentially less protective than) those of your home jurisdiction.
Contractor and Other Third-Party Access to Personal Information
The Chamber reserves the right to disclose personal information to attorneys or law enforcement authorities to address contract violations or illegal behavior, or to enforce our rights. The Chamber will disclose information demanded in a court order, subpoena, or otherwise required by law, or to prevent harm to persons or property. We may share personal information in connection with a corporate transaction, like a merger or sale of our company, the sale of most of our assets, or a bankruptcy.
Our contractors help us with hosting and storage of the Sites, monitoring use of the Sites, marketing to and communications with users of the Sites, and payment processing. The Chamber is not responsible for the conduct or policies of our contractors (including plugins, webinar hosts, and webinar payment processors).
Protection of Personal Information
We have in place certain physical, electronic, contractual, and managerial safeguards to protect the security and privacy of your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee the security of personal information or other data, including during transmission and storage. Use of the Website is at your own risk.
Privacy Laws
The Chamber provides this Policy to be transparent to the users of the Sites and for no other purpose. The Chamber does not accept any other legal responsibilities that would not otherwise be applicable.
Changes to Privacy Policy
The Chamber reserves the right to modify or change this Privacy Policy at any time. We will post significant changes to this Privacy Policy on this page, which shall be your notice of the change. If you continue to use the Sites after the change has been posted, you will be deemed to have agreed to the change. Therefore, the Chamber encourages you to check this Privacy Policy frequently.
