Hyannis Harbormaster Dockside

At the far right of Bismore Park, sits the Harbormaster’s Office which oversees any and all activity in the inner and middle harbor and includes public restrooms and a visitors' information area. The Harbormaster programs of the Marine and Environmental Affairs Department provide services that are intended to protect the safety of people and vessels that use the waterways and waterside facilities.

High Speed Ferries to the islands

High-speed ferries, transporting passengers back and forth to Nantucket and Martha's Vinyard, depart out the Hyannis Harbor, slow and steady, until reaching the Nantucket Sound where they are able to pick up speed.

As these high-speed ferries arrive and depart, the Harbormaster protects the safety of people and vessels using our waterway and waterside facilities from a nearby office.

Hyannis Middle Harbor

Car ferries depart from the middle Harbor ahead, transporting passenger vehicles as well as cargo trucks that bear everything needed for life on the islands. To the right is a marina where you can often find enormously lavish private yachts alongside little sailboats and kayaks that duck in and out among the bigger boats.
